If u feel that it is a blue day,it is gonna be a BLUEY Day especially on Monday morning after a splendid weekend, going to work is such a pain,r ight?Or after a delightful holiday...so for me, I hum a chirpy tune or practise a chirpy tune to get in the happy mood so that I can feel vibrantly happy and spread it to others..
Ok, I keep practising fly me to the moon that my friends and family are beginning to hum it automatically.
Ok today since I lost my lil book...a bit lazy to scribble the tabs again and so I copy and paste the tabs into my word file and whenever the printer felt like printing, i will print it if not, I can practise just by viewing it but still got to copy it cos when im out, I can practise it!
Furthermore, u never know when the tabs will be gone right?Cos the homepages are not fixed..anytime,it can disappear..
For now, I might or might not blog till I get these songs to perfection...practise makes perfect..

Wah felt a new motivation building,like I said, Im a fickle minded person...i get bored easily thus harmonica is good for me cos I can change songs anytime...and then when im not bored I can get back to the old songs.
note:Please brush the teeth before using it..cos one day I just felt lazy and did not brush my teeth before using the harmonica.Then the next day, I can smell yesterday's food when I was blowing and drawing..YUCKS!
And I wash it by running thru tapwater..I am scared that if I take it out, I will not know how to put it back...me and my hands,they create wonderful things but not as expected..hmm...

15 days...since our eyes met
....at the shopping centre glass shelf.I didnt know who u were and there is a strong desire to want u so bad that I just bought it without consulting anyone.It felt good to grow with you,to be by your side always...a steady companion and together we brave the trials and tribulations of this musical journey.And as time goes, Im learning to learn about u every day.Something different.It felt as though we were made for each other...
I went for a short overseas trip and had not been kissing those icy cold strong firm lips of Hohner.Miss him.I brought him along but I keep him hidden in my small bag that trots around wherever I go.On the last morning (of the trip),temptations sets in and I cannot resist kissing him again and so I purse my lips touching his and *sigh life is so... wonderful (hehe!) I blew a few notes just for that satisfaction and to curb that missingness feeling.
Anyway, today I had the pleasure of smooching him all over with the tongue and all that.I thought its gonna be awkward cos few days, I had not practise but it gets better.I played fly me to the moon (with the tabs) smoothly on first trial after a few days break,and it sounded better than when I left it (before my trip)
Ok, I realised the reason being....(do take note....important)
When I left it, I was just learning the tabs of flying to the moon. And so I was concentrating so much on the tabs that i was determined to ensure the single note comes out smooth and flowing from a single hole irregardless.And so I was a bit rigid.
Then after I came back, I was in a playful mood and (by the way I lost my small tab book) thus I decided to try again this time not so much into the actual holes blown or drawn.I realised it came out smooth and fluid cos I wasnt putting too much pressure on myself.I just relax and follow with the flow.I realised that the tune goes smoothly cos I did not keep on looking at the numbers and feeling it with the tongues instead I use my rough gauge...I just need to confirm the first note (by looking at the numbers and placed a tongue there.Then blow or draw a few times from the same hole over and over again till u recognise that tune (and placed it in the song that is in ur head) and then from there I just minus or add the holes (right of left) up to follow the tabs.(Do u understand what my circling explanation is all about?hehe!)
And even if u did not go to the next hole to blow or draw, as long as u move a bit (e.g from -7 to 6, i just move my mouth a bit and the tone is just nice.I dont have to ensure that it is in the exact spot before I blow it, as long as I move a bit,the tune will change accordingly.Get it?hmm..
And I realised I should not put pressure on myself,wanting to join competition or whatever but cos of passion, cos of love doing it...not just BECAUSE...but for the LOVE of it...(I cannot say too strongly but Im learning to like it and I assume hopefully, it will be liking in a long run that deepens as time rolls on=LOVE)
So row,row ur boat, this old man (or Barney song),country road,yesterday and fly me to the moon.These are the songs I need to polish up.Once I learnt 10 songs (excluding kids songs),I will have to learn to let go of my shyness and start performing LIVE.(what?!)Im just kidding...
It doesnt have to be in the public.It can start small, I can have a mini concert with immediate family.Maybe bribe them with a tea cake or something hehe!And then proceed with relatives,cousins and friends.And then as I gain that confidence or perhaps learn to jam with other newbies (or I would have learn the basic fundamentals in school,next year insya-Allah) then I will busk amongst strangers perhaps just below my house..or on the streets...then proceed to the weekends.Just for the fun of it.Again start small from a weekday,non congested area..isolated areas...and then proceed upwards..slowly to SUCCESS!!!
I miss you, Hohner....
Im gonna caress u with my lips today and I will kiss u endlessly for hours....

p.s: Im always having problem with hole 7 cos if I get that wrong ,most of the songs will go haywire.Cos 6 is often used and if used 7 instead,the blowing or drawing is different cos after blowing 6,the next musical note is not by blowing 7 as usual but by drawing instead.Interesting isnt it?
Currently im eating a hardboiled egg with spices (wedding gift if u attend wedding)then the imagination started creating funny images of me blowing the harmonica after eating the yolk.Just thinking about it makes me gross, YIKES! The yellow particles will be scattered all over the harmonica holes.Oh my, and if I dont wash it ,eeyeow..the pests started settling in, and it became a school science project hehe!!

Day 10-health benefits of harmonica
Today I brought out Hohner in public.As I was walking out, there were long stretch of walkways that no one was around.Empty space.And so I start practising my harmonica.At first I tried YESTERDAY again and then without me realising a bicycle man come creeping from behind.I was a bit embarrased but not so much.More shock actually cos he did not warn me with bells or sounds.
Then I play again...its kinda difficult to blow the harmonica when u are moving.Why is this so? I dunno...perhaps the breathing became irregular as u walk in fast speed, in the sun,I dunno. perhaps...Instead of a boring walk,it became kinda fun! Its speed up that 30minute walk.Then I noticed people in the buses watching but its ok. I doubt they can hear me..hehe!
Then a bus stop in front, and more people pop up,abrupt action I did was to hide it.hehe!I put inside my bag...but it was ok.I need to play it out in the sun.I saw a man in his mid 30 to 40 using some sort of small board with wheels.its like a quarter of smallest skateboard but the wheels are like roller blades and there arent any strings or velcro but he just stand on it,separately on 2 feet.Hmm,interesting.
But seriously,the harmonica aids in breathing.Cos i felt my lungs expanded and I dont have much trouble keeping my breath longer.I used to be able to stay long under water but i stop swimming...I LOVE SWIMMING!
So this harmonica do chip in to daily health benefits.hmm,interesting..
And also train ur ears to be alert to catchy tunes so that u can copy it in ur mind (thus the memory is also trained) and then later u can play it, or try decoding it into tabs and play it...Such a small built but kinda complicated sometimes.Like me...
I am a harmonica,not that small but Im an instrument often adults ignored me but kids love me.Hmm,I felt in harmony..peace and tranquility.
I realised Im opening up more in this blog.I thought Im just gonna concetrate on the skills and tehcnicality and hold up on the emotional and rantings mumblings cos Im shy but I open up suddenly after day 9?!

The most accomplished thing I did was being a director and producer of a play I created from a book about a man and a mirror.I never knew it was possible but I did it somehow but then I was ousted from my own play.And so only the play actors knew I was the one who create it, no one else knew but its ok, I had fun and that is an accomplishment cos I was only 10yrs old!
My first BIG role was when I was 9, I was a moon.I have to sway with the clouds..I was BIG! BIg round moon but underneath I was wearing malay dance costume thus everyone knew who I was heheh!My brother kept shouting, that is my sister!
And then I proceed on to act as a rude unruly locals...and when I was in secondary school, we perform cultural dance and modern hiphop dance.I was one of the choreographer.It was cool.I was the (erm..self-proclaimed) "Janet Jackson" of the school.heheh! Those were the days...
Join competitions and all that thru interschool competitions,representing my beloved school.I never have stage fright, i dunno why...I felt belonged on stage.But singing and music, I felt a bit handicapped cos there was a popular girl in 3rd grade.She was chosen to sing and so she felt a bit arrogant.
When it was my turn, she make fun of me saying I sounded like a frog and the whole class laugh with her.Thus eversince, I dare not open my mouth.It was shut eversince that day.And no one told me I can sing so I assume she was right.It has been within me eversince.Hmm...
Why am I blabbing childhood stories here?Hmm...
Ok,gonna rest my head..throat was kinda scratch again,cos I forgot to bring loads of water.

The most accomplished thing I did was being a director and producer of a play I created from a book about a man and a mirror.I never knew it was possible but I did it somehow but then I was ousted from my own play.And so only the play actors knew I was the one who create it, no one else knew but its ok, I had fun and that is an accomplishment cos I was only 10yrs old!
My first BIG role was when I was 9, I was a moon.I have to sway with the clouds..I was BIG! BIg round moon but underneath I was wearing malay dance costume thus everyone knew who I was heheh!My brother kept shouting, that is my sister!
And then I proceed on to act as a rude unruly locals...and when I was in secondary school, we perform cultural dance and modern hiphop dance.I was one of the choreographer.It was cool.I was the (erm..self-proclaimed) "Janet Jackson" of the school.heheh! Those were the days...
Join competitions and all that thru interschool competitions,representing my beloved school.I never have stage fright, i dunno why...I felt belonged on stage.But singing and music, I felt a bit handicapped cos there was a popular girl in 3rd grade.She was chosen to sing and so she felt a bit arrogant.
When it was my turn, she make fun of me saying I sounded like a frog and the whole class laugh with her.Thus eversince, I dare not open my mouth.It was shut eversince that day.And no one told me I can sing so I assume she was right.It has been within me eversince.Hmm...
Why am I blabbing childhood stories here?Hmm...
Ok,gonna rest my head..throat was kinda scratch again,cos I forgot to bring loads of water.

I play "YESTERDAY" till the tongue gets so comfy so thin that it cannot cover the holes.It gets kinda lazy or I dunno...but the one hole tone is getting better and fluid.... but the tongue block is getting flimsy like it has no bone (but tongue really has no bone,right?!!)
And the sadness struck my heart upteen times that I tell myself "I NEED A HAPPY SONG!!!" It is killing me...this song is killing me softly, its too sad for me hehe!!

Ok,yesterday I heard one of my old classic by S.jibeng and it was brought back to life an acappela group few years back -Raihan.
I wanted so much to join in the radio when it was playing but ARGH!! kinda handicapped!! My ears are getting alert to songs that I can simulate using harmonica, the imagination is POWER! hehe!
anyway, heard Barney on tv, I was searching for the ILOVEU, U LOVE ME (no not the Adam sandler version hehe!) but I cannot find for Harmonica tab and so suddenly EUREKA!!(Im just fumbling along..it might sound funny)

Erm,feelin a lil guilty...
Did not practice for a day....
But actually its good cos I have rested my heaty throat well.
Furthermore "Teacher" said we must practise at least 2 hours daily.SO far I had exceeded that expectation, one day of rest should be ok,right?
I went family visiting yesterday cos someone is leaving to a faraway land.Thus spend some time with family and loved ones.Wanted to practise cos I thought there was no one but then there were so many younger cousins that look up to me.Suddenly shyness sets in.I mean, what if they knew that my skills are only 1 song-row,row,row ur boat heheh!!
No,actually I just want to protect my Hohner (cos u know kids, once they saw it,everyone wanna try it before u know it,it will be filled with gooey saliva,food bits, ice-cream lick, sweets and loads more.I just wanna protect my $16+ harmonica,my darling....heheh! (sounds good? hehhe!)
Today no chance to practise but once I had my well-deserved rest perhaps, I will practise...cos I left home quiet early this morning.
Phew..that first day was cool!
My mind kept wandering how can I be the best harpist...I mean how do I actually play by ear...how do I mimic the songs by ear...dont tell me I need to find tabs all the way.
Am I having too high expectation of myself,too fast huh?Erm, I dunno I felt excited and so I am making use of the NOW situation while I am ENTHUSIASTIC. I dunno...I am quite fascinated by those who actually create music.How did they do it?Do I have to enrol in some university programs? Or is it a gift/talent? So if its inbuilt, then no chance for people like me?Hmm...I think it can be cultivated..can it?
I wonder.... *still wondering
p.s:Erm,going overseas for awhile, I dont think I will be playing for that moment cos erm, its a village I dont want to wake everyone up just like when I was a baby living in a village.I wail out loud from 7pm till 7am everyday for the first few years of my life.Then I should have strong lung powers right?hehhe..maybe I can sing like Mariah Carey?No, Im not changing from Harmonica to singer...just wondering...but for sure,I was famous that moment even popular than now,cos everyone knew who I was even before I actually cry out....and they were waiting for that very moment before they actually stuff those wool into their ears...hehe!And they knew my name...that must be the daughter of ...granddaughter of..... and is living .....is very loud....very systematic almost automatic...I pity my mom for that burst of sudden stardom.hehe!

It was weird at first then as I get accustomed cos these delicious tabs are done by people for people like you and me.I guess they could have played by ear and painstakingly, list out the tabs one by one so that beginners like us can improve!Thanks!
Today a lil thought appeared in my mind.Just like when I wanted to play the harmonica,the mind was kinda making fun of me...hehe!The thought was what if I can never be good?What if i stop halfway due to the buziness of mundane world.What ifs...? Well, I shrug it all up and the main thing is that I have fun learning!It doesnt matter.But then,at least if I got stuck somewhere backpacking, I can at least earn my way by playing irregardless whether it is pleasing to the ears or not.They can pay me to get rid of me hehe!
Case closed. *sigh
I really wanted so much to learn "Jeritan Batinku" tabs by P.Ramlee..one day insya-Allah, I hope to move the world with his music and play as powerful as he did to me thruout my childhood years.Yeah, I grew up listening to him.When I was 5, I cried when my uncle told me that he had passed away long time before I was even born?!! I didnt know.I cannot accept it.How can I?I never knew him and suddenly i was told he was gone? How can something so special be gone just like that?And I hope to follow his footsteps but I told myself that I have no musical abilities.And so I left it as that.Now,at this age,suddenly, the hunger for musical knowledge is uproaringly huge thus I took this challenge.
As time goes, the harmonica is getting smoother and smoother, I like it.The slide, the hand movements and all that came naturally, I dunno where I get it from, I try to assimilate from the videos I watched but I cannot.Perhaps,individual has their own special way of opening up to the harmonica.And seriously, it must be open by the heart thru the heart and play from the heart.I felt it and suddenly, I felt the harmonica opens up to me.
Though the tunes I played are not as professional,there are here and there off-chords but its smooth.The transition is smooth.And sometimes, I cannot remember the numbering or sequence,the mouth and hand glides accordingly like some sort of magnet.Erm, this is not a spooky movie.
So far so good, whatever it is,insya-Allah I hope to be able to play P.Ramlee songs one day,insya-Allah.Its never too late.I can do it!!
p.s: Im gonna write every lil details in, my ups and downs ..so that you can learn from my mistakes,who knows I might be big one day and at least this is like a diary of my journey to success.And I can share every lil nitty gritty info with the world so that we can learn from one another.The skills and knowledge will be spread everywhere and anywhere.Insya-Allah amin.
I dont believe music should be expensive.It should be free and then the world will be filled with joy and lovely music of happyness.One day if I can do it, I will try to setup an organisation that goes out just to teach music to the world FREE, possible? insya-Allah.

Day 6-practise till..
SORE!!
yesterday after the late jammin..Today woke up with a cranky tired throat.Felt like I was singing all nite.But I was just huffing and puffing...hehe!
But Im so into it , I cannot stop furthermore, the row your boat song is getting better and yesterday song is making me more intrigued cos I experiment the first line again and again this time with opening and closing of the palms and so SHIOK!!
U can hear the wah-wah effect and the sadness od the tone really gets into my heart...so bad that I felt pain inside. (whereas Im feeling chirpy in the morning!)Hmm...this is weird...
Anyway,its good that today is SILENCE day (Iamsilent.com) then I can rest my vocal cords...but the practice goes on (HOW?!)I must make use while I am still excited, u never know when my boredom will sets it.I need to espand that enthusiasm while I still can!!! Yeah,I am those who gets bored easily and whose motivation is short-lived.

11.53pm-3hours of jammin.YIKES?!I let myself get carried away..imagine Im on stage playing with some band hehe!And its FUN!! At first I tried sitting down then I stand up and BOOGIE!Its better and u can practise with ur diaphragm too!Breathing up and down.And this long duration can make me have a feel on how those performances that stretches an hour or two.How they actually do that in full vigour? With lots of stamina and endurance.Determination and passion is the key..
Hmm, so tomorrow another jamming session?U bet?!! heheh!
I was actually jamming quite soft...cos the neighbours here have mouse ears.They are particular about noises and also being considerate cos Im the only one not working so early in the morning like them.Thus have to practise consideration and hopefully my kindness will pay off,one day insya-Allah.

At first I tried sitting down then I stand up and BOOGIE!Its better and u can practise with ur diaphragm too!Breathing up and down.And this long duration can make me have a feel on how those performances that stretches an hour or two.How they actually do that in full vigour? With lots of stamina and endurance.Determination and passion is the key..
Hmm, so tomorrow another jamming session?U bet?!! heheh!
I was actually jamming quite soft...cos the neighbours here have mouse ears.They are particular about noises and also being considerate cos Im the only one not working so early in the morning like them.Thus have to practise consideration and hopefully my kindness will pay off,one day insya-Allah.
Well,that's it, Im gonna sleep now..
Remember,practice and practise but have FUN too!!

Oh wow, I kept reading about harmonica playing from the heart and been searching for that "IT" song that can cultivate my emotions so that I can put my heart out.And there are songs that meant the world to me,either they are too hard,no tabs or mainly too hard hehe!And so as suggested in previous post, I decided to try out YESTERDAY by beatles.But it seems that I had not finish my country road by John denver.I just finish row,row,row ur boat and i beginning to escalate too high.hehe! Anyway, I tried puckering for the yesterday song for the whole song cos the tongue blocking will need more practise and I felt so in tune, so heartfelt that although i stammered the whole yesterday song, I felt it affect me.I want that FEELING!!!
I love it!
I felt that way when I heard others play but this is the first time I felt it...wow! It really provoke the thin walls of ur heart...seriously. I think it kinda motivates me even more...insya-Allah.
WOW! Now I understand how it felt to play from the heart cos I really open my heart and wanted so much to play from the heart and this tune kinda strum my genuine feelings...hopefully it motivates me even further.
And after checking out the internet, I cannot find any secret tips from professionals or any that has rose to fame from scratch. I bet there are many wonderful stories out there...
I want to start this blog so it can motivate those budding musicians out there not to give up and start even though u are 100 years old, who knows it might be ur niche, right?
I was searching my whole life for many things ,only now, it seems to fall into pieces into places..alhamdulillah. I thought guitar was my thing, cos it look kinda cool.
Then I thought violin too cos I wanted to do it since childhood then I wanted to backpack to India thus Sitar came into mind and then sarod and then when I travel to Morocco , I thought the oud arbi ..then i went to Europe, I saw my uncle perform using the harmonica.He showed us and then he showed me his instrument,classy...the thought came to mind but I never give it a serious thought cos I took harmonica like a toy.In my mind, harmonica is associated with kids playing,toy and not a serious musical instrument to be taken into consideration..my bad.
now its open its vast skills and knowledge to let me see with wide open eyes and be in awe...Alhamdulillah.Dont ever underestimate the power of harmonica..ok?

Im still practising the single note to make it as clear and crisp as possible but it seems that everywhere I go, it says about bending thus the curiousity sets in.

I want to be able to create tabs and play P.Ramlee songs and re-live his songs again (he is a LEGEND in my country/region) Not even a single tab on his songs(?!!) can be found for harmonica? How can that be? Alhamdulillah.
It's small but to me, it s BIG!! COs got to memorize the numbers at first as u go along, u go with the flow.The numbers kinda became invisible as u became use dto the sequence of the blowing..and drawing, u tend to follow the tunes by ear....YIPEE! Woo-Hoo! My first musical accomplishments since.....the first time was when I was young, I got an electronic keyboard.I just follow the lighted colours to play.

Today is day 4....
Wow! Time passes so fast.
Im still learning http://www.harmonicacountry.com/Denver/TakeMeHomeCountryRoads.html
Im at the 4th sentence.Still practising the single tone thru lipping and tongue blocking.I prefer tongue blocking in the beginning but tougher.Then as I tried lipping,it gets easier as u practise.Ur mouth is like a tiny "O" so tiny that only the Yakult straw can be inserted.
I went to the field where construction was just beside.With all that piling sounds, on an open field, I sat and blow my harmonica away.It seems so peaceful.hmmm....
I was motivated but Im afraid cos Im easily get bored type of person and so I dare not put my hopes high.But Im getting to like this humble instrument.At first it felt like a joke but as I keep it in my fingers all day long,kinda like a company, sort of a bosom friend, Im beginning to understand it.
Im beginning to like it.I tried the wah-wah effects.It felt so shiok...so wonderful. And then I realised that this harmonica can mimick almost any songs.It is unique,it can be classical and modern at the same time without much changes or retrofitting.
Its like fated...I never give this instrument much thought..i felt like a kid again..having fun.
Today I heard "Sorry seems to be the hardest word" (http://www.harptabs.com/song.php?ID=3819) on the radio and there is this part, where I think either they use violin or harmonica but that part ,insya-Allah if I am good one day, I wanna do it.Cos this song hold something special for me,perhaps I can assimilate my feelings into it... one day insya-Allah like my idol... (previous post)
Im feeling better, but impatience is getting on my nerves cos im playing the same old song every day..and I have not reached the chorus yet....patience is a virtue-Im reminding myself...

Also at first Ive wondered why there is no difference in cupping or not,the sound seems the same.But then I read somewhere that I need to listen carefully and put ur heart and soul and listen to everything ,every lil details,every change and I can hear it.Its true, I heard the difference, the echoing soort of magnifying the sound more as u cupped it...
try playing with and without cupping and feel the difference.Then also try recording ur own while u practise so that u can hear ur own playing...its much better to hear ur own recording then u can detect the mistakes easily.

My lips are like...
Angelina Jolie as I practised for hours on my first day.
Oh I did not tell you how I started.
I was searching for the harmonica in my country and found only 2 musical stores have it.But then I decided to take a look at a nearby 24hours shoping centre cos that sells everything and anything.Yeah, Mustafa Centre sells everything...and anything u can think of.
And I found it at the guitar section.Hohner ocean star only cost $16.90.I think there is another one but I think that is the 25 chromatic harmonica from hohner $19+.There are also made in China brands cost from $6.90 onwards...
Immediately I bought it and my eyes gleam at the thought of practising it that day itself.
Immediately I look at the links (previous post) and read them again (Cos I already did when I was researching) and search for interesting tabs to motivate me.Something easy to learn.
And I love John Denver's songs and the beatles..Hey Jude.Jason Mraz Im yours (http://www.harptabs.com/song.php?ID=8723) are too complicated, perhaps when Im good enough...
Then I found out that the chinese locals do have an organisation (http://www.harmonica.org.sg/) and courses but in mandarin and next year they are gonna host the http://www.aphf2010.org/Spnrs_Prosp.pdf And so... will I be able to be as good by then and participate it? heheh! I like a challenge but perhaps this is too fast!!! YIKES!!!

Hi there!
I wanted to learn the harmonica.Is it too late? Is it too late to harness that musical ability in me? Nope.Its never too late to learn anything even in ur last breath.And so Im going to start learning the harmonica and Im gonna share my lil steps with you....
Why Harmonica?
The truth is I am interested to learn violin when I was young but at that time, violin and its lessons are quite costly thus the idea was pushed aside.And then I wanted to learn the guitar but was too busy with school and activities that I push that aside too.And then in my teens, a friend brought a handmade guitar for me from the Philippines but sad to say,it was broken few months later as I was learning the basics due to my carelessness of my brother.(Yeah, what are u gonna do? brothers..)
Then in my adult life, time sped so fast without u knowing,I wanted to instil some sort of musical happiness in me.Thus I check out the music lessons and wonder what are the courses that are easy to learn and create satisfaction within players almost instantaneously.Cos being a kid, u want to be always motivated right?So do adults like me who felt that their learning capabilities are reaching its expire date soon.
Hmm, and so I went travelling and met my distant uncle who is learning the harmonica.I was intrigued that he can play the blues.Quite amazing actually...and so I thought but I never think about trying it. I thought harmonica is not that glamour hehe!!
Anyway...since I am so excited to embark on a lil musical career path..I research and was intrigued to find out that there are not many who are good at this in my country. I meant the blues...And most who are good at it are those who learnt themselves....and the famous singer that incorporate harmonica in the music is Bob Dylan. Thus that increase the motivations.
And as I research more, there are many harmonica tabs for songs from people worldwide thus i have the interest but not much of the money, I thought why not? And here I am. I bought for myself Hohner's diatonic ocean star...from Germany.
So come join me as I embark in this exciting musical career for my own pleasure...
Who knows I might be great at it...right?
